Description
Historically, NIKE, Inc. left the Jordan 1 experimentations to either the silhouette’s mid or low-top trims. Recently, however, the North American institution has been dishing out eyebrow-raising arrangements onto Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker via the model’s “Zoom CMFT” iteration, the latest “Bayou Boys” iteration for Zion Williamson arriving with faux crocodile skin and faded denim panels. Initial images of the pair depict “ZOOM AIR” branding on the tongue, which suggests the modified, full-length cushioning first introduced in December 2019 through the “Fearless Ones” collection has made its way into the forthcoming retro. A “glow-in-the-dark”-reminiscent green animates the aforementioned branding, as well as the exposed foam throughout the bootie-like collar. Elsewhere, overlays from forefoot to heel indulge not only in a rich purple hue, but also reptilian scale detailing. Underlays at the toe box differ from those throughout the midfoot and tongue: the former boasts simple lightweight black construction, just as the ankle underlay, while the latter sports a faded greyscale pattern. As with every other Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT seen thus far, profile swooshes are cut out and Wings insignias on the ankle flaps are reduced in size. Underfoot, the midsole and outer outsole deliver a tried-and-tested “White/Black” combination, but remaining tread rounds out the pair in a vibrant green that matches the additional laces packaged in the sneaker’s new shoebox.
